eyes

*written after listening to 'My eyes' by Travis Scott, under the influence of an intolerable amount of nicotine. Song to be listened to, and nicotine to be consumed, immediately after reading this poem. Readers who don't follow these instructions, i will haunt after my death. Should the defiant reader have beaten me in my race to death, the nearest biological relative of the defiant reader, will be haunted till they themselves join us in death*
Look me in my eyes
Through the camera lens
Through the windows at the supermarket
Through the reflection on the surface of the pool of mud, in the nearest pot hole
Look at me, into my eyes
Into my soul

Stare into my soul
Don't look at anything else that is mine,
For nothing else, but my eyes,
are actually mine
Everything else is a facade, a fake, a fallacy,
For I am only one man, and especially in love, I'm wrong all the time.

Look me in my eyes
Look into them
Look at my soul
I feel weary and old in there,
Knowing all I know

At the bar,
Outside,
We listened to people talk,
Most of them sound shallow and hollow,
Only appealing in empathy and entertainment,
We are all having a good time,
And everyone except me, is self confident,
But I don't think they know,
As much as we know,
About us
And how we love

Look at me
Into my eyes
I feel like everyone's eyes are dead
Their sockets, hollow
Their nerves, blunt
You were alive that night
We were the only two lovers, undead

I loved you wrong
And so you DID me wrong
And now when you look at me
Even if the silence is comfortable
I don't recognise who you are,
Anymore.
.
.
So look at me
Look into my eyes
It's cute how you look right through me these days
You dont look at me (the same) anymore

I noticed how you look the same these days,
Maybe even better smiling next to him,
Safe in him arms,
But I don't recognise you anymore
I'm not sure what you did to that girl we both loved
Now she drinks, smokes and dances with the strangers with hollow eyes
They tell funny jokes and erupts in laughter
It's cute how you look right through me these days
You dont look at me anymore
