The day is done
My eyes are weary
I poured too much water into the glass
The table cloth could barely soak it all up
A little pool of water collected around the table leg
The day is done
My cat, now well fed
Rests on my foot
I think it likes the warmth of my shoe,
still lingering on my sock
The day is young
My heart only started beating just now
I look out the window in my lonesome
And reflected how
Every heartbreak I ever went through was only portals for my heart to mend again
The day is young
There is no one next me
At the air port, to announce my name
There's not a single familiar face
In the standing ovation at my awards ceremony
The day must still be young
